How do I make an appointment?
The best way to make an appointment is clicking on the appointment button above or book here. You don't need to get in contact with us prior to booking but of course, you're welcome to if you have any concerns.
I have already seen multiple doctors and health professionals, how can you help me?
Everyone who walks through the door has a different story and a different journey. Having had a vast range of experiences with the health system. Sometimes you will have seen multiple specialists who are very good at assisting in their area of specialty, but you might feel a bit lost in how to put all the information together. You may have a long list of symptoms that feel impossible to work through with a single doctor or specialist. Working through your symptoms takes time, which is hard to do in standard-length consults. Everyone's needs will be different, and it always takes some time to understand where best to start for you. Dr Wong will take the time to understand where you are at now and how best to help. It isn't always easy; there's often a lot of trial and error, but with persistence and patience, we'll make improvements. Our initial consults are 60 minutes long, but usually even that time flies by. Dr Wong's aim is to help advocate for you and help empower you.
I have a lot of test results and letters, how do I send them to you?
Our preference would be that you send as much information as you can via email to reception@drmarywong.com.au prior to your first appointment. Generally, the more information we have the easier it will be to understand where to start. Additionally, you're welcome to email through further information after or between appointments.
Do I have to fill out more questionnaires?
When you book, our online booking system, Automed, should request you complete a patient registration form which is essential. They may also send you another questionnaire, do your best to fill this out. Additionally, under our resources page we have questionnaires that you might find applicable. If you could fill out any that you think apply to you please email them through to us. There is one called The Spider which is great for helping to understand the overall impact of energy-limiting conditions.
Can you be my GP?
Dr Wong is mindful that it can be difficult to make appointments at short notice, as her availability is limited. Her preference would be that you also have your usual GP for your day-to-day care and more urgent matters. Dr Wong is happy to liaise with your GP as needed. Feel free to discuss with her how you would like your care to look.
What are your fees?
Please refer to our Appointments page for our fees and click here for more details. We understand that our fees may seem significant, but over the years we have found that appointments are most valuable when there is enough time to properly work through your symptoms and concerns. When we have tried standard consultation times, you require so many of them, and care is so disjointed, that it just doesn't work. You may find that even 60 minutes isn't long enough. Medicare rebates don't provide as much assistance to patients with chronic complex conditions as is needed. We want your appointments to be as valuable for you as possible. We find that other than the work performed when we see you in clinic, there is also more work to be done between appointments, which is unpaid and needs to be considered.
Where are you located?
We are located at 50 Mount St, Heidelberg 3084.
Parking is on the street, so leave enough time to find parking.
